Historic trail

Welcome to Higham Ferrers in Northamptonshire – the county renowned for its 'Squires and Spires'.

St. Mary's Church spire

As you approach the centre of the town you will see stone buildings and raised pavements that lead to the market place, which is surrounded by many old and historically interesting buildings.

St. Mary’s Church stands like a beacon pinpointing the town from all approaches, with its beautiful steeple towering above the local area.

We recommend that you begin our historic trail around the town at Chichele College, founded in 1422 by Henry Chichele, Archbishop of Canterbury.
