On leaving Chichele College by the main entrance, on the opposite side of College Street and facing the College is College House, dated 1633. It was for many years the home of the Vicars of the Parish Church and is now in possession of All Souls College.

Charles Parker, Boot and Shoe manufacturer, occupied the property during the last century, followed by his son Owen Parker who was Mayor of the Borough on eight occasions from 1897 until 1914. He was also a member of Parliament.

Built in 1709 in the reign of Queen Anne, The "Pomace" pear tree growing up the side of Pear Tree Cottage is said to be of an age with the cottage. It still regularly bears large fruit, with the average size of each pear weighing 1lb.
